Licensed Professional Counselor
About Me
I received my Master of Arts in Counselor Education from Virginia Tech in 2016. Additionally, I hold a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in teaching from Hollins University. I am licensed by the state of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor and am also a Nationally Certified Counselor.
Clients come to me with a range of issues including personal, emotional and financial concerns; marital and relationship concerns; parenting; anger management; grief; substance abuse; panic attacks; anxiety and depression; obsessive compulsive disorder; suicidal ideation; work-related and school-related stressors; and test anxiety.
My goal is to provide a safe, encouraging environment for clients and to work together with them to find growth and meaning during difficult times in their lives. I use an integrative approach to therapy based on what I feel will best help my clients, with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as my primary orientation.
I worked in the economic development field and as a high school teacher before becoming a counselor. I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, and other friends and family. In my leisure time, I also enjoy reading, studying the Bible, traveling, and baking.
You're Not
